Meet our KLD Family:

Kendra L. d’Eon - Founding Lawyer

Kendra was called to the Law Society of Ontario in 2016 and called to the Law Society of Manitoba in 2022. She spent her childhood in rural Southwestern Nova Scotia; she is Acadian-Métis. Having grown up in a small fishing community she is understanding of the needs of her rural and small business clients.

As an avid entrepreneur, Kendra owned and operated her own equestrian company which led to her Bachelor of Commerce degree at Dalhousie University. She graduated in 2012 with a major in entrepreneurship. While engaged in the local business community, Kendra also acted as a mentor for the Canadian Youth Business Foundation (now Futurepreneur). She still has a passion for supporting small businesses.

Kendra obtained her law degree at Osgoode Hall Law School in 2015. During her studies she focused on indigenous legal issues and how they intersected with other areas of law such as family law and wills and estates. She enjoyed her pro bono work with the Family Law Project and was the VP Finance for the Osgoode Indigenous Students Association for two years.

During her articles with the Financial Services Commission of Ontario, Kendra focused on insurance litigation and regulatory prosecutions. After being called to the Law Society of Ontario she began her legal practice at TD Insurance Staff Legal working in insurance defence in 2016.

In 2021 KLD officially launched. Kenda now focuses her practice on her two strongest interests: providing culturally sensitive legal services to those pursuing indigenous rights, economic development, and self-governance; and offering an empathetic approach to wills and estate planning.

Her family’s relocation to Winnipeg in 2021 created a unique opportunity for her to expand her legal practice to serve clients in both Ontario and Manitoba.

In 2023 Kendra was awarded the Dr. Paul Garfinkel Resilience Award, a part of the Rotman Family Entrepreneurship Awards.
